U.S. Marshal to review courthouse

LaGrangeCounty Sheriff Terry Martin told commissioners Monday morning that a U.S. Marshall will be in LaGrange May 21 to review the layout at the county courthouse, conduct a survey, and make recommendations on security.

“LaGrange County is one of only three counties in Indiana that I know about that does not have full-time security,” Martin said.

A judge asked commissioners to look into the issue of providing a secure entrance and exit last month.

A committee of Commission President George Bachman, Council President Jac Price, the president of the local bar association, the judge of the circuit court, the judge of the superior court, courthouse custodian Frank Brown, and Sheriff Martin will be reviewing the U.S. Marshall’s recommendations.
