LaGrange County’s unemployment rate continues to fluctuate slightly from month to month as the employment situation normalizes.
Last month, the rate went up.6 percent to 6.4 percent. October’s rate was 5.9 percent.
The number of unemployed rose by 74 for the month.
A year ago, the November rate was 7.7 percent.
The slightly higher rate still puts LaGrange County in the bottom third in county rankings in the state.
Neighboring counties continue to run higher unemployment rates, with Elkhart County at 7.6, Steuben County at 7.3 and Noble County at 7.2 percent.
Statewide, the unemployment rate dropped to 7.3 for November, down from 7.5 in October.
