Two Howe cadets attend National Acolyte Festival

Cadets Brandon Leisure and Zachary Yanakeff from The Howe School, along with the school’s chaplain, Rev. Carol Fleming, traveled to the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. to attend the National Acolyte Festival on Oct. 6.

The festival invited acolytes and those in grades 6-12 interested in being an acolyte, vergers, parents and others interested in acolyte ministry to attend. The purpose of the festival is to provide those in attendance the opportunity to worship, celebrate, and be enriched by other acolytes.

While in the area, they were also able to visit the Smithsonian Art and History Museum, the Capital Building, the National Cathedral, and Christ Church in Alexandria, Virg., where they were able to sit in George Washington’s pew.
