Two arrested in battery case

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department dispatched officers to a residence in the 5000N block of CR 50E near Howe Wednesday evening regarding a physical altercation.

Officers were told that a male had thrown a female on the ground and then hit her several times in the face and stomach. Officers made contact with two males at the residence, identified as Matthew Troyer, 24, of CR 200S and Mitchell Troyer, 22, also of CR 200S. The police report stated that both showed signs of being involved in a fight.

Officers attempted to get information on the identity of the female who was reportedly involved, but noted that both subjects were extremely uncooperative about any information concerning the female or her location.

Officers were able to learn that the female was Allison Zimmerman, the girlfriend of Mitchell Troyer, and she apparently fled after being allegedly battered by Matthew Troyer.

The department reported that Zimmerman allegedly fled due to outstanding warrants out for her arrest.

Officers searched the area and attempted to track her, but were unable to locate Zimmerman.

Both Matthew and Mitchell Troyer were taken in custody for battery between the two, as well as an additional battery charge on Matthew Troyer for the assault on Zimmerman. Both are being held at the LaGrange County Jail without bond until a mandatory court appearance.

Deputies are still looking for Allison Zimmerman, who was last seen fleeing toward Lima-Brighton School. She is described as 5’8”, 120 lbs., with long dark or sandy blonde hair. Anyone with information should contact the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department at 463-7491.
