On Jan. 8, a deputy from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle at the corner of CR 200E and CR 400N. According to the police report, upon approaching the driver’s window the officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit was called to assist with the investigation. Once the K9 unit arrived, the driver of the vehicle, Landon K. Strawser, 20, of Third Street in Howe and a passenger in the vehicle, Dustin Dimos, 22, of CR 25N, were removed from the vehicle while K9 Tyson preformed a vehicle sniff. According to the report, K9 Tyson alerted to the driver’s side door of the vehicle, in which an envelope containing marijuana was allegedly located above the driver’s side visor.
