Traffic stop results in drug arrest

Shortly before 5 a.m. on August 30, deputies from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department made a traffic stop on a 2005 Ford Freestyle at the intersection of Canal St. and Lafayette St. in LaGrange.

    According to the police report, the driver, Melissa Jones, 27, was driving with a suspended license. During the investigation, officers allegedly found drug paraphernalia containing a white powdery substance.

    Jones was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and maintaining a common nuisance.
