Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

 

On March 11, an officer from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department made a traffic stop on SR 9 at Townline Rd.

According to the police report, the vehicle was stopped for driving left of center. The vehicle was not insured and was going to be towed. A K-9 from the LaGrange Police Department was deployed to search the vehicle and alerted officers to the odor of drugs in the vehicle.

Investigation revealed that a passenger in the vehicle, Shawn A. Cox, 37, of Angola had a small amount of marijuana in his possession. He was arrested and taken to the LaGrange County Jail.
