Traffic hazard call leads to arrest

 

On April 14 the Lagrange County Sheriff’s Department investigated a report of a traffic hazard located at the intersection of CR 1000W and SR 120 in Shipshewana. Upon investigation, the registered owner of the vehicle, Steven L. Carson, 21, of Middlebury, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for public intoxication.

According to the police report, officers located a leafy green substance believed to be marijuana in Carson’s pocket.

Carsonwas taken to LaGrange County Jail on charges of Possession of Marijuana, a Class D felony, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Class D felony, and Public Intoxication, a Class B misdemeanor.
