Topeka Softball results

Michiana Equipment and W & S Wood Creations each clinched second-half division titles in the Topeka Men’s Softball League last week.

A split with J & R Construction left Michiana Equipment with a 7-4 record, good enough to close out the Middle Division II crown over the Silverbacks (6-6). After fall, 10-8 in the opening game, Michiana Equipment rallied to take the nightcap, 17-9.

Despite being swept by A & B Lawnskaping by counts of 12-2 and 19-4, W & S Wood Creations finished atop the Lower Division with an 8-4 mark. One game back at 7-5 was the Outsiders.

Tying for the Upper Division title with 9-3 records were Streetkids/Wildman Softball, Synergy/AllPro Gas and Cedar Creek/Hoopland Farms. Synergy ended its slate with 17-9 and 24-0 triumphs over Larry Yoder.

Streetkids split with Royal Motors/RC Recycling, 12-24, 21-10. Cedar Creek was swept by Inferno Reloaded, 21-1, 27-9.

The Middle Division I crown remains undecided. Team X Factor concluded its schedule by splitting with Finishworks/Rockwood, 11-5, 10-13, leaving it with a 9-3 record and Finishworks at 7-3. Challenger Door, which handled Glen Lambright by scores of 15-3, 21-11, also sits at 7-3.

Several rainout dates will be played this week. The annual season-ending tournament is slated to start next Monday (August 19).
