Topeka Softball League results

 

Mary Jo Martin and Jami Gamble held on to their slim leads in the Topeka Women’s Softball League after play last week.

Both league leaders split doubleheaders, moving their records to 6-4. Mary Jo Martin bounced back from a 13-3 loss to the Milk Haulers in the first game to win the second, 13-12.

Jami Gamble rolled to a 15-3 triumph over RV Transport in their opener, but fell in the nightcap, 10-0.

Autopark swept Cherokee in the other twin-bill last week, winning by counts of 15-14, and 17-14.

Cedar Creek ran its second-half record in the Topeka Men’s Softball League to 6-0 last week with victories of 13-12, 14-9 over Upper Division foe CCAC.

The sweep left Cedar Creek as the lone unbeaten in the Topeka loop. Previously undefeated Sandy Ridge Stables dropped its first decision of the second half to Champion Well Drilling, 16-3. Sandy Ridge (5-1) won the opener between the two clubs, 13-3 and remains a game up on Champion in Lower Division II.

Timber Ridge Golf Course (7-1) solidified its lead in the Middle Division with a 9-8, 17-9 sweep of Lavon Yoder. Streamside Woodshop (4-2) took over first place in Lower Division I with wins of 18-6 and 18-17 over Lord’s Seeds.

Other squads scoring doubleheader sweeps last week included Streetkids/Mojo (23-5 and 27-15 over Jamar Slabach), ConCreations (11-3 and 14-4 over Connection/MJ Acres), Townline Stables (19-9 and 12-5 over Good Time Clock & Watch Repair) and Kountry Wood (11-8 and 31-17 over Slabach Logging).

Two twin-bills ended up in splits. AllPro Gas/Synergy defeated Royal Motors/RC Recycling, 18-17 in the first game and lost the second, 16-11. The Silverbacks and D & R Miller Concrete divided a pair of decisions, with the Silverbacks netting the opener, 3-2 and D & R Miller the closer, 15-5.
