Topeka to pick new town clerk-treasurer Monday

The Town of Topeka will be getting a new Clerk-Treasurer Monday prior to the regular council meeting.

LaGrange County Republican Central Committee Chairman Bob Murphy has called for a meeting at 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, at the Topeka Town Hall to appoint a replacement for Katie Braid, who resigned recently.

Jeff Brill, precinct committeeman for Clearspring Township, and Lori Carney, precinct committeeman for Eden Township, will select the new clerk-treasurer.

Those interested in filing for the position must file a declaration of candidacy with the party chairman by 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9. Candidates must be registered voters and must reside in either Eden or Clearspring townships.
