Topeka officer injured in crash

 

A Topeka deputy marshal was reportedly injured Tuesday afternoon when his vehicle collided with a van.

According to the report, Deputy Marshal Tony Clark was traveling on CR 250W, responding to an accident report with his emergency lights on. Clark attempted to pass a van driven by Norman Yutzy, 24, when Yutzy started a left turn into a driveway, the report stated.

Clarkattempted to avoid hitting Yutzy’s van by turning back to the right, but his police vehicle clipped the back of the van, which made the van spin off the road. Clark’s vehicle went off the roadway and clipped a tree before stopping just off the roadway.

Clark was transported to Parkview LaGrange Hospital complaining of back and neck pain.

Yutzy was treated at the scene for a cut to his forehead.

Assisting at the scene was the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, Topeka Police Department, Topeka Fire Department, and LaGrange County EMS.
