Topeka man killed in Ohio crash

A crash in Knox County, Ohio on Monday resulted in the death of Devon Lambright, 20, Topeka. Devon was the son of Richard Lee and Erma T. Lambright.

According to reports from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a van occupied by Lambright, along with his sister Sharon Lambright, 18, of Topeka, and Kenneth Mullet, 21, of Millersburg, was eastbound on US 62 in Knox County, Ohio, when it apparently drove off the right side of the road. The van overcorrected, failed to negotiate a curve and went left of center, striking a guardrail. The van then went off the right side of the road and struck several trees. The van overturned before coming to rest on its side.

Devon Lambright was reportedly ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is being performed in Knox County, Ohio.

No information on the condition of Sharon Lambright or Kenneth Mullet was released.

Reports from Ohio noted that alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash, and that none of the occupants were restrained by seatbelts. It was also noted that further investigation will determine the driver of the vehicle at a later date.

Lambright’s body is expected to be at Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier later this week. A full obituary will be published when available.
