Topeka man arrested following chase


On the evening of Sept. 27, a LaGrange County Deputy observed a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on CR 600S, which started a pursuit that reached speeds of well over 100 mph.

According to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, the motorcyclist refused to stop with the officer following him at over 100 mph.

The pursuit briefly moved into Elkhart County before traveling back into LaGrange County and going north.

The motorcyclist went near Shipshewana before heading south and through the town of Emma.

According to the police report, the motorcycle reached speeds up to 130 mph before finally stopping near CR 200S and 200W.

Devon J. Fry, 20, of CR 650S was arrested for reckless driving (vehicle pursuit) and resisting law enforcement.
