Topeka looking forward to more in-dustrial expansion

Along with the news that NISCO is bringing in over $8 million in new equipment, the Topeka Town Council heard last week that the former TiteLock property will be expanding in the near future. The council was told that the current owners would like to have all 10 acres of the site within the town’s TIF district. Currently, only half of the property is within the TIF limits.

Keith Gillenwater from the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation also informed the council that another unnamed project is being worked on for the Topeka area.

In other business:

The council heard that a final report on the unsafe structure on the northeast corner of Main and Lake streets is being worked on with some wording changes being sought.

The council was told that the report is indicating that the common wall should be safe for Mr. Ed’s, but would be considered unsafe for anything south of that wall.
