Topeka firefighters honored December 2

The Topeka Volunteer Fire Department held its annual Christmas and Recognition Banquet on December 2.  

Adam Lambright was named 2013 Red Haggard Fireman of the Year and EMT of the Year. This marks the fourth time Lambright has been name fireman of the year and the second time he was recognized as the top first responder.

Marty Fought was also honored for his 25 years on the fire department. Nate Hill and Jason Helmuth were recognized for their 10 years of service and Brian Miller and Matt Christner received five-year plaques.

Station 30 officers for 2014 are Stewart Bender as chief, Pete Kaufman as assistant chief, Gerald Hershberger as captain, Adam Lambright as rescue captain, Pat Martin as lieutenant (secretary-treasurer), Brian Miller as lieutenant, and Chris Miller as safety officer.
