Tip leads to drug arrests

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department received a tip on March 6 that Melissa Norris, 43, of LaGrange, who was wanted on felony charges out of LaGrange County, was staying at a residence in the 7000 block of CR 750N.

    According to the police report, when officers arrived at the residence they made contact with Gregory Williams, 50, who told officers Norris was not there. Williams gave officers consent to search. During the search, officers located Norris in a back bedroom of the residence.

    While speaking to Williams, officers allegedly saw a one-pot meth lab and paraphernalia in plain view. The Indiana State Police Lab Team was then called in.

    Williams and Norris were arrested and taken to the LaGrange County Jail. Williams was booked on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and maintaining a common nuisance.
