Three people were treated for injuries following a three-vehicle crash on US 20 and CR 925W Saturday afternoon.
According to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, Jena Bender, 25, of CR 1125W was eastbound on US 20 and reportedly looked down and when she looked back up, noticed that the vehicle in front of her was turning.
Bender could not stop in time to avoid a collision with the second vehicle, driven by John D. Schlabach, 18, of CR 1000W. Schlabach’s vehicle then hit a third vehicle that was westbound on US 20, driven by John Terrell, 52, of Pekin, Ind.
According to the police report, Bender was treated for head and neck pain. A 2-month-old male in Bender’s vehicle was given a precautionary evaluation at the scene. A passenger in Schlabach’s vehicle, Nola Mullett, 16, of Millersburg was treated for head and left hip pain.
Bender was cited for speed too fast to avoid collision. Schlabach was cited for a learner’s permit violation.
