Three arrested after drug tip

On December 28, LaGrange County Sheriff's Deputies were conducting an investigation at a residence on CR1100 E in LaGrange County reference several tips that Methamphetamine was being both used and manufactured at the residence.

According to the department, as officer's approached the residence to make contact, they witnessed a juvenile subject through an open window smoking from what appeared to be a glass methamphetamine pipe.

The juvenile was accompanied by homeowner and guardian of the juvenile, Michele Ward and Brenda Padgett. Officer's made contact with these subjects, and a search of the residence took place.

The department reported that officers located two glass smoking devices (pipes) as well as a small bag of white powdery substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Michele Ward was arrested and taken to the LaGrange County Jail on preliminary charges of: Possession of Methamphetamine, Class D Felony; Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Class D Felony; Neglect of a Dependant, Class D Felony; Possession of Paraphernalia, Class A Mis-demeanor; Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Class A Misdemeanor

Brenda Padgett was arrested and taken to the LaGrange County Jail on preliminary charges of: Possession of Methamphetamine, Class D Felony; Possession of Paraphernalia, Class A Mis-demeanor; Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Class A Misdemeanor; Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class B Misdemeanor

The juvenile subject was taken into custody by LaGrange County Probation on preliminary charges of: Possession of Meth-amphetamine, Class D Felony; Possession of Paraphernalia, Class A Misdemeanor; Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class B misdemeanor.
