Thomas Rollin Yoder, 69, Topeka, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his residence.
He was born November 7, 1943, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Marion H. and Mary E. (Moran) Yoder.
Living most of his life in LaGrange County, he was a humanitarian and scholar. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, and retired as a welder from Tenneco Corporation in Ligonier.
He was married September 22, 1990, in Wolcottville, to Kimberly M. Zook. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter and her life partner, Marian C. Yoder and Jacob Adams, Evansville, Ind.; one son, Noah T. Yoder, Topeka; one sister and brother-in-law, Jane A. and Pat Driscoll, San Francisco, Calif.; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Charles E. Yoder, St. Simons Island, Ga., and Patrick and Judy Yoder, Suttons Bay, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of his life with military rites by LaGrange American Legion Post #215 will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at David Rogers Memorial Park in Wolcottville.
