Topeka Elementary third graders participated in a scavenger hunt around Topeka on May 19. They went to Tiffany’s Restaurant, Topeka Do It Best, King Animal Clinic, Farmer’s State Bank, Topeka Town Hall, Snax and Pax, and Save-a-Lot.
They had lunch at East Park, ice cream cones at Tiffany’s and visited West Park. The boys and girls toured the Topeka Library and heard about the upcoming summer reading program.
The third grade scientists, with the help of J.J. Egli, had an “Egg Drop.” Students had packaged raw eggs in a container with materials from home. Egli dropped them off the roof of the Do It Best Hardware to find out which eggs broke and which ones stayed intact.
