Terry shines in FW Luers Relays

Tressa Terry of Prairie Heights won the girls shot put event at Saturday’s Fort Wayne Luers Relays. The meet was conducted at Wayne High School.

Terry uncorked a heave of 35-6, eight inches longer than the 34-10 toss produced by runner-up Maya Gates of Fort Wayne Wayne. The Lady Panther standout placed fifth in the discus with a mark of 85-8.

Two other Prairie Heights entries earned fifth-place finishes in the meet. The foursome of Faith Avila, Amanda Miller, Aspen Dirr and Katie Cooper took fifth in the distance medley relay (15:16.62). The quartet of Augustina Rodriguez, Kaitlyn Myers, McKenzie Kain and Allison Young netted fifth in the 400-meter relay (56.97).

Wayne won the team championship with a score of 95 points. Prairie Heights was seventh with 16.
