Tax rates for real estate and personal property have been certified to the LaGrange County Auditor by the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF).
The official order, signed by Brian E. Bailey, commissioner for the DLGF, noted that LaGrange County is the 11th out of the 92 Indiana counties to receive the early certification.
County Assessor Pat Monroe delivered the ratio study to the DLGF July 26. The ratio study was approved by DLGF Aug. 4.
County Auditor Kay Myers then certified net assessed values to the DLGF Sept. 9 and the budget was certified Feb. 1.
Highest tax rate in the county is in the Town of Topeka. The lowest rate is in Milford Township.
