Superior Court news

 

The following people recently appeared before Judge George E. Brown in the LaGrange County Superior Court.

    Julia Acker, convicted of Visiting a Common Nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 60 hours community service, and $516 in fines and court costs.

    Kordas Ludwik, convicted of Reckless Driving, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 80 hours community service, and $476.50 in fines and court costs.

    Michael Lewis, LaGrange, convicted of Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class D felony, was sentenced to 18 months with the Dept. of Correction, all but 90 days suspended, 12 months probation, 80 hours community service, and &516 in fines and court costs.

    Jacob Brandenberger, LaGrange, convicted of Reckless Driving, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 80 hours community service, and $466.50 in fines and court costs.

    Michael Forkner, Osceola, Ind., convicted of Reckless Driving, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, all but 100 days suspended, balance to be served on electronic monitoring, 12 months probation, 24 hours community service, and $496.50 in fines and court costs.

    Nicholas Gingerich, Topeka, convicted of Criminal Confinement, a Class D felony, was sentenced to 18 months with the Dept. of Correction, all but 130 days suspended, credit for time served, 12 months probation, 24 hours community service, and $266 in fines and court costs.

    Vaughn Flowers, Westerville, Ohio, convicted of Reckless Driving, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 100 hours community service, and $466.50 in fines and court costs.

    Katherine Kopkowski, Maumee, Ohio, convicted of Operating While Intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 80 hours community service, driver’s license suspended for 90 days and $566.50 in fines and court costs.

    Mark Bennett, LaGrange, convicted of Operating While Intoxicated, a Class D felony, was sentenced to 180 days with the Dept. of Correction, sentence may be served on work release if eligible and accepted, driver’s license suspended for one year, and $466.50 in fines and court costs.

    Veronica Luna-Huerta, LaGrange, convicted of Operating While Intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, was sentenced to 60 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 90 hours community service, driver’s license suspended for 90 days, and $486.50 in fines and court costs.

 

    Brian Hammand, South Bend, Ind., convicted of Operating a Vehicle as an Habitual Traffic Violater, Ct. I, a Class A misdemeanor, and Possession of Marijuana, Ct. II, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail for Ct. I and Ct. II, all but 200 days suspended, sentence may be served on work release, 12 months probation consecutive to probation in St. Joseph County, Ind., driver’s license suspended for 10 years, and $566.50 in fines and court costs.

    Chad Elder, Ft. Wayne, convicted of Conversion, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 48 hours community service, $250 in restitution, and $266 in fines and court costs.

    Jerry Lambright, Millersburg, convicted of Operating While Intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, all but 30 days suspended, sentence may be served on work release, 12 months probation, driver’s license suspended for 90 days, and $516.50 in fines and court costs.

    Timothy Wells Jr., Angola, convicted of Possession of Marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, all but four days suspended, 12 months probation, 48 hours community service, and $466 in fines and court costs.

    Jason Helper, convicted of Operating While Intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, was sentenced to 60 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 80 hours community service, driver’s license suspended for 90 days, and $486.50 in fines and court costs.

    Samantha Hoff, convicted of Resisting Law Enforcement, Ct. I, a Class A misdemeanor, and Learner’s Permit Violation, an Infraction, Ct. II, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 60 hours community service, and $322 in fines and court costs.

    Tyler Hoyt, Kendallville, Ind., convicted of Operating While Intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, all but 10 days suspended, 12 months probation, 24 hours community service, and $466.50 in fines and court costs.

    Natasha Gums, Toledo, Ohio, convicted of Operating While Intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 50 days in the LaGrange County Jail, driver’s license suspended for 90 days, and $666.50 in fines and court costs.

    Jordan White, Topeka, convicted of Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class D felony, was sentenced to 18 months with the Dept. of Correction, all but 100 days suspended, 12 months probation, 24 hours community service, and $466 in fines and court costs.

    Russell Wicker II, Wolcottville, convicted of Public Intoxication, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, all but 10 days suspended, 12 months probation, and $526 in fines and court costs.

    Troy Trittipo, LaGrange, convicted of Possession of Methamphetamine, Ct. I, a Class D felony, and Conversion, Ct. II, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to three years with the Dept. of Correction for Ct. I and 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail for Ct. II, all but 100 days suspended for each county, sentences to run concurrently and may be served on home detention, 24 months probation for Ct. I and 12 months probation for Ct. II, probation to run concurrently, 24 hours community service, and $632 in fines and court costs.

    Marcelino Abarca, Elkhart, Ind., convicted of Reckless Driving, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 80 hours community service, and $466.50 in fines and court costs.

    Jay Lehman, Middlebury, convicted of Operating While Intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, all but six days suspended, 12 months probation, 24 hours community service, and $516.50 in fines and court costs.

    Curtis Stacy, South Milford, convicted of Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class C felony, was sentenced to four years with the Dept. of Correction, one year suspended and credit for time served, 12 months probation, 24 hours community service, and $466 in fines and court costs.

    Raymond Miller, Sturgis, Mich., convicted of Failure to Report a Property Damage Accident, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 80 hours community service, and $266.50 in fines and court costs.

    Ike Sabelhaus, LaGrange, convicted of Failure to Report a Property Damage Accident, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 80 hours community service, and $266.50 in fines and court costs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

    Andrew Lehman, Topeka, convicted of Illegal Possession of Alcohol by a Minor, a Class C misdemeanor, was sentenced to 60 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 60 hours community service, and $241 in fines and court costs.

    Jeremiah Miller, Shipshewana, convicted of Reckless Driving, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 40 hours community service, and $466.50 in fines and court costs.

    Matthew Killianm, Shipshewana, convicted of No Valid Operator’s License in Possession, an infraction, was sentenced to $152 in fines and court costs.

    Paul Sykes, convicted of Residential Entry, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, all but 202 days suspended and credit for time served, 12 months probation, no contact with victim, and $216 in fines and court costs.

    Candice Benson, Wolcottville, convicted of two counts of Maintaining a Common Nuisance, each a Class D felony, was sentenced to three years with the Dept. of Correction for each count, 1½ years suspended for each count, sentence may be served on home detention, 1½ years probation for each count, to run concurrently, 36 hours community service, and $932 in fines and court costs.

    Amber Vanhoozer, Sturgis, Mich., convicted of Reckless Driving, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 80 hours community service, and $496.50 in fines and court costs.

    Jeffery Duzan, LaGrange, convicted of Public Intoxication, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to $316 in fines and court costs.

    Kenneth Pearson, Post, Texas, convicted of Operating While Intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, all but 40 days suspended, 12 months probation, driver’s license suspended for 90 days, and $616.50 in fines and court costs.

    Tyler Ernsberger, Sturgis, Mich., convicted of Possession of a Synthetic Drug, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 36 hours community service, and $516 in fines and court costs.

    Cindy Mercer, Sturgis, Mich., convicted of Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class C felony, was sentenced to eight years with the Dept. of Correction, five years suspended, five years probation, and $466 in fines and court costs.

    Allen Lantz, convicted of Possession of a Synthetic Drug, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 36 hours community service, and $516 in fines and court costs.

 

 

 

 

    Holly Long, Ligonier, Ind., convicted of two counts of Theft, each a Class D felony, was sentenced to three years with the Dept. of Correction for each count, sentences to run concurrently, and $266 in fines and court costs.

    Eric Miller, convicted of Reckless Driving, a Class B misdemeanor, was sentenced to 180 days in the LaGrange County Jail, all but four days suspended, 12 months probation, 24 hours community service, and $476.50 in fines and court costs.

    James Thomas III, Wolcottville, convicted of Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class D felony, was sentenced to three years with the Dept. of Correction, all but 564 days suspended and credit for time served, 12 months probation, 60 hours community service, and $666 in fines and court costs.

    Ashley Mason, LaGrange, convicted of Possession of Marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, suspended, 12 months probation, 80 hours community service, and $566 in fines and court costs.

    Lori Hochstedler, Topeka, convicted of Operating While Intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor, was sentenced to 365 days in the LaGrange County Jail, all but 64 days suspended and credit for time served, 12 months probation, driver’s license suspended for 90 days, and $566.50 in fines and court costs.
