Sturgis man arrested after traffic stop

A deputy from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department made a traffic stop on May 5 at SR 9 and CR 550S.

According to the police report, after the white 2002 GMC SUV was stopped for an equipment violation, K-9 Kayla gave a positive alert on the vehicle. The driver, Bret Anderson, 20, of Sturgis, Mich., allegedly admitted to officers there was marijuana in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, eight grams of marijuana and several paraphernalia items were found.

Anderson was arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and cited for possession of paraphernalia.
