Students participate in Hispanic Day


Twenty-four Lakeland High School students participated in Hispanic Day on Campus March 23 at Ancilla College.

The sophomores, juniors and seniors were welcomed by guest speaker Roy Domnquez, who was the first Hispanic sheriff of Lake County. The students also had the opportunity to learn about college academics and extracurriculars as well as financial aid opportunities.

AncillaCollege, Holy Cross College, Bethel College, Goshen College Indiana University South Bend and Ivy Tech State College were all represented and shared information concerning their colleges.

Students who participated were Edgar Carmona, Osmaira Martiez, Ana Garcia, Carlos Albor, Ozzy Albor, Luis Gutierrez, Hernan Duran, Laura Duran, Jessica Nieves, Ernesto Cruz, Oscar Cruz, Noe Heredia, Maria Garcia, Alfredo Nieves, Carlos Morales, Jenny Garcia, Alondra Caballero, Maria A. Munoz, Becky Carmona, Melissa Jarimillo, Maria G. Munzo, Marcelino Ballines, Rebecca Munoz, and Eva Gonzalez.
