Special benefit for area girl Saturday

A benefit auction is being held to help an area girl who is currently undergoing proton radiation treatment for a brain tumor.

Lydia Allen was diagnosed just prior to the start of school with a brain tumor and immediately had surgery. Allen is currently undergoing six weeks of proton radiation therapy in Bloomington, Ind.

Friends and family are holding a benefit auction on Saturday, Sept. 22, starting at 10 a.m. at the LaGrange County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Items already donated include Notre Dame football tickets, antiques, Storage Wars Barry Weiss autographed items, a guided hunt, loads of gift certificates and much more.

Food will also be available. All proceeds will go to the family to help with the mounting medical costs.

Mike Patka is donating auctioneering services.
