Soyla Olvera, 84, LaGrange, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at her daughter’s residence in Mongo.
She was born May 31, 1928, in San Marcos, Texas, to Nick and Maria (Hernandez) Rios.
Moving from Texas to Mongo in 1982, she was a homemaker and attended LaGrange Baptist Church.
She was married July 28, 1982, in Weslaco, Texas, to Ismael Olvera. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1999.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Sara and Luis Vasquez of Mongo, IN, and Rachel Trevino of Alamo, TX; five sons and six daughters-in-law, David and Adriana Moreno of Donna, TX, Saul and Cristela Moreno of Donna, TX, Esdras and Ana Moreno of Grand Prairie, TX, Daniel and Blanca Moreno of Brownsville, TX, Jose “Joe” and Elaine Moreno of Clio, IA, and Ida Moreno of Donna, TX; a step-daughter, Frances Jones of Avondale, AZ; two step-sons and a step-daughter-in-law, Ismael Olvera, Jr. of Avondale, AZ and Gavino and Jeraldine Olvera of Rome City, IN; forty-eight grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Juan Borjas of Weslaco, TX, Maria Rios of Donna, TX, and Virginia Franco of Deleno, CA; and a brother and sister-in-law, Rojelio and Elva Rios of Grand Prairie, TX.
Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Mimi Moreno; a son, Abel Moreno; and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10:00 am at LaGrange Baptist Church, 1370 N State Road 9, LaGrange, IN 46761 with Pastors Jeff Farnham and Jose “Joe” Moreno officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, IN.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 3-7 at the church.
Memorials may be given to LaGrange or Clio Baptist Churches.
