Shirley Dennis, 81, Wolcottville, died Saturday, November 2, 2013 at her residence.
She was born December 23, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Charles and Margaret (Lee) Gill.
She was a homemaker and made small teddy bears that were given away to churches, sheriff’s departments and fire departments. She was an active member of the Wolcottville United Methodist Church and past member of Rome City United Methodist Church, singing in the choir and was occasionally a soloist at both churches.
She was married October 6, 1951 to William Edward Dennis. He preceded her in death in 1976.
Surviving are two daughters, Renee L. (Dale) Keener, Austinburg, Ohio, and Karen A. Dennis, Wolcottville; one son, Gary R. (Lois) Dennis, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two grandchildren, Shane Housholder and Dawn Housholder; and five great-grandchildren, Jade Housholder, Quincy Housholder, Cree Housholder, Peyton Housholder, and Kennedy Rose Housholder.
Visitation is 11 a.m.-noon Friday, November 8, at Wolcottville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be noon Friday, November 8, at Wolcottville United Methodist Church with Reverend Jack Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville.
