Shipshewana seeking financing for plow truck

With the cost known for a new snowplow truck to replace the one that caught fire last year, the Town of Shipshewana is now looking for financing.

The Shipshewana Town Council approved seeking bids to finance a maximum of $103,000. The town is receiving $27,000 from the insurance of the old truck, which will be used for the down payment on the new truck.

The council opened bids at their Dec. 8 meeting, with an apparent low bid submitted by Hill Truck Sales for $138,595.

The council hopes to approve the bid and financing at the Jan. 12 meeting.
