Shipshewana man uninjured in accident near Middlebury

A Shipshewana man escaped injury in two-vehicle accident on July 27 between Goshen and Middlebury.

    It was reported that an SUV driven by Tara Fritz, 20, of Middlebury disregarded a stop sign on CR 28 at CR 35. Her vehicle struck an SUV driven by Robert Detweiller, 35, of Shipshewana.

    Detweiller was not injured. Fritz suffered back pain and a passenger in her vehicle, Kayla Salchert, 20, of Goshen complained of rib pain. A second passenger in Fritz’s vehicle, Jake Sheard, 22, of Richmond, suffered a possible broken collarbone. All three were transported to IU Health Goshen Hospital.

    Officers cited Fritz for disregarding the stop sign.
