Shipshewana man arrested for OWI

 

Jerry L. Bills, 36, of Shipshewana was arrested for felony operating while intoxicated (OWI) after he was stopped by an officer from the Middlebury Police Department on CR 16 just east of CR 116 shortly after 8 p.m. on June 10.

According to the police report, Middlebury police officers found him a ride prior to the stop for being intoxicated in public.

A short while later Bills was seen by officers driving while intoxicated and was stopped. Bills’ alcohol level was found to be at 0.10 grams and he had a prior conviction within five years, making this offense a felony.
