For the third year in a row, State Senator Sue Glick (R-LaGrange) is the recipient the 2014 Distinguished Public Service Award from the American Legion. She was recognized for her work in the Indiana General Assembly on behalf of veterans.
“It is a privilege to represent our Hoosier veterans in the Senate,” Glick said. “Returning to civilian life poses unique challenges for veterans. I remain committed to ensuring our service men and women have the tools they need to make the transition back home as easy as possible after their service.”
This session, Glick authored SEA 331 to provide more resources to veterans interested in becoming teachers. She also sponsored SEA 354 that established the Hoosier Women Veterans Program to address the specific needs of Indiana’s female veterans. The General Assembly passed additional legislation this year to help improve veteran’s quality of life, which Glick supported.
