Rowlison enters plea, probation ordered

Former LaGrange Town Clerk Mike Rowlison pled guilty to two misdemeanor charges earlier this week. As part of the agreement, Rowlison was given a 24-month suspended sentence, was placed on probation and given 180 days to pay the town $1,000 in restitution.

Under the agreement, Rowlison is also barred from seeking elected office for 10 years.

Rowlison was arrested and charged in November for theft and official misconduct after town officials began an investigation, which was later turned over to the LaGrange County Prosecutor and the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department. Officers searched Rowlison’s LaGrange home and found items that had been reported missing from the town.

According to court documents, Rowlison reportedly admitted to investigators that he took a portable battery power pack and a tailgate lift unit.
