Roof damaged at county highway garage

The storms which blew through Sunday afternoon caused some damage at a storage garage used by the county highway department. Commissioners were apprised of the situation at their Monday meeting.

Highway Superintendent Jeff Brill was instructed to order temporary repairs and seek a quote on repair.

Brill was also instructed to prepare specifications and seek quotes for a new dump truck that will be purchased next year. One reason for seeking the quotes now is the length of time before delivery will be made for both the chassis and bed. In the past, these two items have been purchased separately and the workmen at the highway department had mounted the new equipment on the chassis.

Commissioners also approved the 2014 Purdue Educator Contract, which calls for Purdue University to provide three educators to LaGrange County, at a cost of $104,950.50.
