Robert Edwin Dillon, 76, Shipshewana, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at his residence.
He was born November 6, 1936, in Elkhart, Ind., to James and Thelma (Rizzo) Dillon.
He was a retired state police communications officer, U.S. Navy veteran, and member of LaGrange American Legion Post 215 and ABATE Motorcycle Club.
He was divorced from his first wife Carolyn Miller. She survives. He then married Marie on December 30, 1984. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Brenda (Garry) Yoder, Millersburg; one stepdaughter, Ericka (Jeff) Shull, Wawaka; three sons, Randall (Stephanie) Dillon, Middlebury, Patrick (Kelly) Dillon, Goshen, and Doyle Dillon, Shipshewana; eight grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Gage.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home in Middlebury.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home in Middlebury with Reverend Donald Sheline officiating.
Burial will be in Keightley Cemetery, Shipshewana.
