Robert Lee Bordner, 85, Kendallville, Ind., died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Northridge Village in Albion, Ind.
He was born April 29, 1929, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Leo and Jeanette (Knott) Bordner.
Living most of his life in LaGrange and Noble counties, he was a bookkeeper at Kehr Iron Works in LaGrange and McCray Refrigeration in Kendallville, Ind. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in LaGrange, Sons of the American Legion Post 215 in LaGrange, and the former LaGrange Moose Lodge and LaGrange Eagles Lodge.
He was married June 3, 1950, in South Bend, Ind., to Nancy Haberstroh. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Herb Jr. Levitz, Angola, Ind., and Jenni and Scott Applegate, Albion, Ind.; two sons, Steve Bordner and Marc Bordner, both of Kendallville, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ilene Middleton, Albion, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lorri J. Bordner, and one brother, Glenn Bordner.
Private burial will be in Eden Cemetery, Topeka.
