Richard L. “Andy” or “Dick” Anderson, 89, Ft. Wayne, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012.
He was born January 23, 1923, in Ft, Wayne, to Clarence and Viola Anderson.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1983 after 42 years with General Electric. He spent his winters vacationing in Florida. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Ft. Wayne, having served on the Board of Directors for 25 years, was a 50-year member of the Maumee Lodge 725 and a member of the Scottish Rite and American Legion Post 499.
He was married in 1943 to Mildred “Mimi” Smith. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, James (Sandie) Anderson, Ft. Wayne; one daughter, Susan (Rex) Pranger, Adams Lake; one grandson, Dillon Pranger; two granddaughters, April Resor and Angie Tacker; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Bianca Tacker; one brother, Robert Anderson; one sister, Dorothy Kissinger; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 11, and 12-1 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at C.M. Sloan Funeral Home in Ft. Wayne. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at C.M. Sloan Funeral Home in Ft. Wayne.
Burial with military rites will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
