State Representative Denny Zent (R-Angola) recently completed the Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development (BILLD) program. Rep. Zent was among 37 lawmakers in the nation selected to participate in this annual training seminar.
“It was truly a privilege to take part in this legislative leadership program,” said Rep. Zent. “I had the unique opportunity to gain valuable insight on several key policy issues impacting folks right here in the Midwest.”
BILLD, a national, non-partisan organization, was established in 1995 to develop and enhance the leadership skills of promising new legislators. The program provides leadership training seminars, and also expert discussions about critical policy matters, including health care, education and the economy.
“By participating in the BILLD program, I was able to learn how lawmakers from around the country address the issues impacting their state and learn from those experiences,” Rep. Zent stated. “I was also fortunate enough to share success stories from Indiana, due to our state’s insistence that government live within its means, as well as issues we have resolved to make our state a better place to live, work and raise a family.”
