A second report filed July 19 noted that a garage at 403 3rd St. was broken into sometime overnight, with two handguns and cash stolen from a vehicle that was parked in the garage.

The house was checked and was found to have been ransacked on the inside. The owner was located and did not find any items missing. However, the owner’s cat was found to have been beaten to death.
