The 43rd annual reunion of the descendants of Henry and Ada Randol of rural Wolcottville was held September 22 at the LaGrange County 4-H Fairgrounds Shelterhouse. Those attending were from Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
Forty-eight family members and guests attended. Greetings were received from the following descendants who were unable to attend: Michael Hayden of New Haven, Mrs. Ada June Moore of Long Beach, Calif., and Max Franklin Sr. of Kendallville.
Following a potluck dinner, the annual business meeting was conducted. Cindy and Charles Kilgore, Jerry and Kelly Lash, Walter Stevens and others readied the hall for the meeting. Other family members assisted with cleanup of the shelter house.
The name of LeRoy Carter, a recently deceased descendant, was read by Secretary Janet Grogg. He was dedicated to the Randol Memory Book by President Ronald Stout.
Election of officers for a two-year term was held with the following results: Walter Stevens of Kendallville, president; Ronald Stout of Hamilton, Ohio, vice president; Janet Grogg of Ft. Wayne, secretary-treasurer; and Mary Ann Trattles of Three Rivers, Mich., adult games.
Auctioneer Jerry Lash conducted the traditional white elephant auction. Bingo was called by Mary Ann Trattles.
