It’s that time of year again when flannels are in fashion and night robes become winter coats at the 17th Annual Shipshewana Pajama Sale.
On Saturday, Feb. 2, dozens of retailers and hundreds of guests join in on the fun in downtown Shipshewana. Shops open as early as 5 a.m. and for anyone who shops in pajamas, discounts run deep.
From furniture to fabric and hot drinks to home decorations, retailers offer sales anywhere from a free gift with purchase all the way up to 60 percent off some items.
“The Pajama Sale has become a banner event for our area. People love coming to it. Groups or spouses will show up wearing matching pajamas and have a great time the entire day,” said Beth Thornburg, executive director of the LaGrange County Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Some guests stay overnight at one of our local inns, hotels, or bed and breakfasts. Many of the managers say the Pajama Sale has become a highlight for them, as visitors are in fun-loving, festive spirits.”
For a list of participating retailers and discounts, guests can stop by the Visitors Center located in the Next Door Shoppes at 350 S. Van Buren St. (SR 5).
