Prairie Heights used four-run outbursts in the fifth and sixth innings to put away Eastside, 12-3 in NECC softball action last Thursday.
Taryn Neff led the 15-hit Lady Panther attack with a double and two singles. Neff also got the pitching win, scattering 11 hits, striking out four and walking just one.
Kayla Feeney and Shawna Carbone each whacked a double and a single for Heights, while Taryn Terry lined a pair of singles. Carbone and Terry plated two runners apiece with their safeties.
The next night against Fort Wayne Dwenger, the Lady Panthers came up on the short end of a 14-3 score.
Carbone blasted a home run and a double to drive in two of the three Heights tallies. Autumn Murphy also had two hits.
Westview shutout Bethany Christian, 4-0 in varsity baseball play Saturday morning in chilly Emma.
Judah Zickafoose knocked in all four Warrior runs, three coming in on a first-inning homer. Brant Yoder collected three hits and scored twice. Jamar Weaver and Kohle Christner each had two singles.
Tarrin Beachy, Damon Miller, Adrian Brandenberger and Hunter Christner all took turns on the mound for Westview. Christner, who tossed three innings, got credit for the win. The quartet combined to give up just one hit, walk three and strikeout seven.
