Prairie Heights School Board announces new facility members

On Nov. 21 the Prairie Heights School Board held its monthly meeting. The board first recognized the high school’s FFA Chapter Achievements at National Convention. A 3-Star Chapter Award was rewarded for the Ag Mechanics team of Dalton Sowles, Jake Mersing, Teri Crawford and Riley Lewis. Marissa Richardson, Becky Courtright, Bethany Foley, and Rebekah Frey also received a silver star for Natural Resources and Environmental Science.

The school board then moved to approve several new employees to be added to the schools teaching and coaching staff. Approved were: Patricia Clark (PHES Kindergarten Teacher), Gordon Grabill (7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach), Tony Everidge (Freshman Boys Basketball Coach), Logan Counterman (Volunteer Wrestling Coach), Adam Steele (Volunteer Wrestling Coach), Van Barroquillo (Volunteer Wrestling Coach), Matt Marvin (Volunteer Wrestling Coach) and Gwendolyn Kelly (6th Grade Girls Basketball Coach).

Mr. Middleton then approved the employment of Carrie Mantle (PHHS Aide) and the resignation of Tyler Randol (6th Grade girls basketball coach), Kelly Tons (FSA Route only), Julia Kerr (PHHS Aide) and Ryan Funkhouser (HS Asst. Football Coach). Approval voting was 5-0.
