Prairie Heights High School and its student council have announced the students of the month for January. Each of the students named epitomize what it means to be a person of character and demonstrates the skills necessary to be successful. Recipients of the honor were nominated by their teachers for having excellent attendance, a well-developed work ethic, desire academic excellence, and demonstrate the pillars of character on a daily basis.
Ryan Burkholder is the freshmen student of the month. According to his teachers, he is an excellent student and role model for other students, and a natural-born leader.
Kegan Townsend is the sophomore student of the month. According to his teachers, he always goes above and beyond to help others. He is also a very determined, hard worker who is nice to everyone and when he sees someone struggling in class, he tries to help them.
Dylan Staynor is the junior student of the month. According to his teachers, he never expects others to do what he will not and he leads quietly by example. He meets deadlines, thinks in a novel way, discusses concepts, assists others, and most importantly, does not chase empty grades.
Joe Boots is the senior student of the month. According to his teachers, he is an outstanding young man whose work ethic is second to none. He demonstrates tremendous leadership skills in school and extracurricular activities. He is a caring individual who has earned the respect of his fellow students, athletes, coaches, and teachers at PHHS.
