Prairie Heights has hired Andrew Arndt as the high school assistant principal.
Arndt was a graduate of Fremont High School in 1999. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in social studies education from Purdue University in 2004 and a Master of Arts in educational leadership from Ball State University in 2012.
He was a social studies teacher at Fremont Community Schools for the past eight years, where he was also involved in any extracurricular activities.
He coached boys junior varsity basketball for the past several years as well as both boys and girls varsity golf teams. He served as a sophomore class sponsor and was recently a student council sponsor. While completing his Ball State Principal Internship in 2012, he worked closely with and was mentored by several Fremont administrators. Throughout the internship he handled student discipline issues, worked on the evaluation rubric committee, was a teacher leader in Project Based Learning, and worked on administering the student handbooks.
Arndt grew up in Fremont and currently resides there with his wife, Abby (Sullivan) Arndt.
He looks forward to building a rapport with the teachers and students at Prairie Heights in the upcoming school year.
