The Prairie Heights girls track squad nipped visiting Lakeland, 63-61, and lost to the Angola squad, 95-32. Angola’s girls also topped Lakeland, 99-33.
Angolaswept nearly every event Tuesday, with Prairie Heights sprinter Allison Young scoring the only win on the track for the Panthers. Young took first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.37. Young would also place second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.45, a fraction of a second behind Angola’s Emily Watson.
In the field events, Tressa Terry won the shot put for Prairie Heights, throwing 33 feet, 5 inches.
Lakeland’s Monika Stidham took the top spot in the girls discus throw, with 97 feet, 4 inches. Teammate Michaela Moore would end up second in the event with 72 feet, 6 inches.
On the track, Amanda Miller would finish second for Prairie Heights in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:12. Out in the long jump pit, Miller would earn points for her team with a second place finish, jumping 12 feet, 8 inches.
Aspen Dirr would score the Panthers some points with her second place finish in the 800 meters, in a time of 2:43.
Lakeland’s Samantha Gieseking would place second in the 1600 meters at 6:35.
