Prairie Heights maintained its second-place status in the NECC boys basketball standings Saturday night in Albion with a 79-60 mauling of Central Noble.
Leading by just three (34-31) at halftime, the visiting Panthers went on a 22-15 tear in the third quarter to build a more comfortable, 56-46 edge. A 23-14 surge in the final frame secured Heights its sixth league win in seven decisions.
Jacob Heller led a trio of Panthers in double figures with 20 points. Kyler West was next with 18 and Cody Bachelor tickled the twine for 17.
Other Prairie Heights scorers included Austin Penick and Levi Tuckerman with six points each, Dylan Stayner with five, Cassten Everidge, Zach Shepard and Bobby Blum all with two, and Tanner Terry with one.
Heller also topped Prairie Heights (10-4 overall) in rebounds with nine and in assists with four. Stayner added six rebounds to his stat line, Everidge five rebounds and Penick three assists.
Brock Noe poured in 27 points for the 1-14 Cougars. Zack Robinson chipped in 10.
