Prairie Heights boys down Elkhart Christian

Prairie Heights defeated its third straight Elkhart County foe Tuesday night in dramatic fashion, shading the Braves of Elkhart Christian in overtime by a count of 86-79.

Trailing by as many as 12 (68-56) midway through the fourth quarter, the Panthers rallied to take a 72-71 lead on a Cody Bachelor basket with less than a minute to play. But Elkhart Christian guard Kenny Bearss would hit a free throw to tie the score and send the contest into overtime.

Prairie Heights took an 80-75 lead with 2:30 remaining in the extra session on a three-point play by Zach Shepard. Heller then secured the Heights win by sinking a couple of foul shots with six ticks left.

Heller finished the night with 36 points and eight rebounds. Bachelor knocked down 16 markers, while Kyler West collected 10 points, eight boards and three assists.
