Marco Faltermeier booted home three goals in lifting the Prairie Heights varsity soccer team past Woodlan, 5-2 Tuesday night in Brushy Prairie.
All three of Faltermeier’s markers came in the first half, helping the Panthers build a 5-1 cushion. His first came after he fielded a punt by Heights goaltender Tyler Gingerich near midfield.
An intercepted pass by Faltermeier near the Woodlan goal resulted in his second tally. His third came a minute before halftime following a crossing pass by Christian Granados to Spencer Lake, who in turn deflected the ball to Faltermeier.
Lake gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead five minutes into the match with a goal off a pass from Granados. The same two combined for the second Heights score, only this time it was Granados taking a pass from Lake and burying a shot past the Woodlan keeper.
Zin Min scored both Woodlan goals, one in each half.
Gingerich made 10 saves in the Panther net.
The victory improved Prairie Heights to 6-0-1 on the campaign.
